The key aspect of the corrugated board that could affect its performance is the know as the flute type.
The flute is the “corrugated” section between the two liners, and by altering its’ height (indicating the size of the flutes) it is possible to obtain different performance characteristics.

A-FLUTE (Single Layer)
A-Flute is the basic original fluting for corrugated boxes and is the thickest flute profile you can use. It is roughly 5mm in thickness, and is an excellent option for products that need a little more cushioning or need to have extra strength for stacking. It generally has a total of 30-36 flutes per 30cm, it can be used for a double wall application or thick corrugated pad.

E Flute - 1.5mm (Single Layer)
Single wall quality. It is ideal for packing more premium goods as it is thin (looks good!) and at the same time the corrugation provides more protection and sturdiness compared to normal boxboard materials.
